Attack of the Killer Tomatoes is officially making its return with Attack of the Killer Tomatoes: Organic Intelligence, the long-awaited fifth film in the franchise. Along with the first trailer, the filmmakers also revealed an awesome new poster that looks like it came straight out of the painted movie poster era of the late '70s and '80s. It's a fun throwback that perfectly matches the franchise's over-the-top personality.
This time around, the story puts a modern twist on the classic formula. A young biotech prodigy creates a genetically engineered vegetable designed to solve humanity's biggest problems. Naturally, things don't exactly go according to plan. The experiment spirals out of control, unleashing a new generation of killer tomatoes that once again threaten humanity in the most ridiculous way possible.
One of the biggest surprises is the return of John Astin, who reprises his role as the unforgettable Professor Gangreen. Joining him is an impressive cast that includes David Koechner (Anchorman), Eric Roberts (The Dark Knight), Catherine Corcoran (Terrifier), Dan Bakkedahl (Veep), Myrna Velasco, Vernée Watson, Paul Bates, Zachary Roozen, Samantha Bailey, and Noor Razooky.
